The world struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic. Disease warning, proper communication, countering disinformation and the appropriate risk assessment that particularly takes the cross-sectoral interdependencies (between the economic sector, education, health sector, media etc.) into account were not activated in time or are still not available at all. Especially the role of the security sector as such but most importantly in fragile and conflict-affected states is underestimated and underutilized. Stabilized security and a purposeful utilization of the security sector resources will be a key element in these settings to ensure community resilience. We cordially invite you to this event that will provide you with an academic and policy-related debate on best practices in pandemic crisis management on a global scale.
